Whilst on holiday in Blackpool I noticed the usually rock steady temperature gauge climbing, did not think any more of it but on the way home the next day it was right at the top of the gauge. We limped to a service station and found she was very low on water. It was topped up and we made it home.
2 weeks later it started leaking badly from the underbody pipe. I fixed this in Asda carpark.
2 Weeks later she was still losing water quite rapidly, and making a very bad squeaking noise. I replaced the water pump thinking it to be the overall culprit… the noise remained and was instead traced to an idler pulley. The ware loss remained and was dripping from somewhere where water is not found. Head gasket was suspected again… It’s the end, she will be stripped for some parts and then sadly scrapped.
